VDO Motor Variable Valve Train
Regulator, eccentric shaft The Valvetronic system allows cars to deliver more direct and greater power, while reducing fuel consumption of Otto cycle engines by up to 10%. With this system, the air supply is regulated by the variable lift of the valves which in this way replaces the functionality of the butterfly valve which, however, does not fail, but takes on other functions, such as the emergency regime. The high precision VDO motors therefore provide for the continuous adjustment of the eccentric shaft of the system. The intake valves are managed in a variable way through the eccentric shaft and the rockers operated by the camshaft. The highly precise VDO sensors precisely control the advance angle of the eccentric shaft and transmit this value to the engine management system.
